1991-2019... 28 Years of Fun!

The Aquarium of the Pacific is the fourth most-attended aquarium in the nation. It displays over 12,000 animals in more than 100 exhibits that represent the diversity of the Pacific Ocean!

Be sure to look for the giant Pacific octopus in the Northern Pacific Gallery, along with sea jellies, Japanese spider crabs, and puffins. In the 350,000-gallon Tropical Reef Habitat, see more than a thousand colorful fish, beautiful coral, sea turtles, zebra sharks, and porcupine puffer fish. The Southern California/Baja Gallery represents the diverse marine environment of the Pacific Ocean in eighteen exhibits, such as the Blue Cavern. This 142,000-gallon, three-story high exhibit stands at the end of the Aquarium’s Great Hall of the Pacific and features ocean inhabitants found off the coast of Catalina Island.

New! Meet Our Animal Ambassadors at Pacific Visions
Visitors have the opportunity to meet the Aquarium’s animal ambassadors outside the entrance to Pacific Visions during four sessions held each day between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Aquarium’s animal ambassadors include both marine and land animals. Animal ambassadors will be brought out periodically during these periods to allow visitors see these animals up close, take photos, and get a chance to learn about the conservation of these species. Animal ambassadors featured in these sessions include a ringtail possum, Magellanic penguin, California desert tortoise, rain frog, desert green toad, blue-tongued skink, prehensile tailed skink, desert rosy boa, gray banded king snake, tiger salamander, and bearded dragon. Animals will be brought out one at a time and are subject to change from day to day.

In addition, the Aquarium’s Our Watersheds: Pathway to the Pacific exhibit has been transformed into Our Water Future, an interactive space to help visitors understand where our water comes from and what conservation issues our supply faces now and in the future.

The Aquarium has added an exhibit featuring archerfish on the Harbor Terrace overlooking Rainbow Harbor. The exhibit is located next to the mudskipper exhibit outside the Aquarium’s classrooms across from the Moon Jelly Touch Lab. Archerfish have the ability to spit a jet of water above the surface as a method of hunting insects and other prey.

Convenient parking available for $8 with Aquarium validation.
